• NOAA National Hurricane Center main page:
  The main U.S. Government center-a vast resource through this main page on hurricane structure, movement, prediction, preparation, etc. Many links below are found through this site.


• National Hurricane Center Preparedness:
  Lots of links and information about hurricanes on this large site, some of which are listed below. This site discusses how hurricanes form, move, the categories, storm surge and a lot more for basic understanding. Go through this site to get a good general, but knowledgeable and complete understanding of hurricanes. Optional in Spanish also.

  The Hurricane names for 2006 and future years.

  Great site with explanations on hurricanes and preparations for kids to understand.

  Page on the airplanes that fly into hurricanes.

  Photos of the aircraft and pictures taken by the aircraft of storms. A must see.


• Meteorological Information on Hurricanes:
  A little more in depth discussion of the meteorology of tropical cyclones.


• Hurricane drinks:
  of all kinds and different ingredients are found all around the world in various bars. Heres a sample:

1 oz vodka
1/4 oz grenadine syrup
1 oz gin
1 oz light rum
1/2 oz Bacardi 151 rum
1 oz amaretto almond liqueur
1 oz triple sec
grapefruit juice
pineapple juice

Pour all but the juices, in order listed, into a hurricane glass three-quarters filled with ice. Fill with equal parts of grapefruit and pineapple juice, and serve. Serve in: Hurricane Glass
