Spring rains are hitting the historic flood plains in Arkansas and Oklahoma. The rains are so heavy, the USS Batfish located in Muskogee, OK was floated once again. The local fire department was brought out to add ballast to the boat to keep her steady.
My guess is the original lead ballast was sold long ago to raise funds for the museum. There is a LOT of lead in these old boats and historic naval museums are always tight on funds.
After the water subside, the boat will need cleaning and restoration.
