Caribbean Safety and Security Net Needs Some Volunteer Help
The Caribbean Safety and Security Net is a partner of the SSCA’s High Frequency Radio KPK which broadcasts daily at 1215 hours UTC, or 0815 hours Eastern time. CSSN is well respected for collecting and disseminating accurate information relating to crimes against yachts in the Caribbean, enabling cruisers to make intelligent decisions about how and where they cruise. It is run by cruisers – for cruisers in the Caribbean yachting community. KPK broadcasts CSSN Alerts as they occur throughout the Caribbean.
CSSN is currently looking for volunteers to add to their team, and seeking additional team members for the Associate Webmaster position. The CSSN associate webmaster role is a behind the scenes role and usually requires less than 20-30 minutes, 2-3 times per week, on average. Volume is somewhat seasonal – less during hurricane season more at other times. Good internet access, respect for victims’ privacy and basic skills with WordPress (or a desire to learn) are the basic requirements. You will participate as part of a remote team – it’s your chance to give back to the cruising community.
CSSN is providing a valuable service to the cruising community and could use your help as a volunteer. Cruising is all about cruisers helping cruisers.
